Take in Ellen Gallagher's stunning artwork alongside fellow Trabblrs at the Tate Modern!
Gallager is one of North America’s foremost acclaimed contemporary artists, known best for her “gorgeously intricate and highly imaginative works realized with a wealth of virtuoso, detail, and wit.”
Gallagher makes her first solo debut in the UK with AxME , which brings together imagery from myth, nature, and social history.
Highlights of the exhibition include:
• Double Natural, POMP-BANG, and eXelento, a series of wig-map grid collages that explores beauty and race during the 1930s to 1970s.
• Bird in Hand (2006), which depicts human life and marine life converging at the base of the ocean in a mythical-type Atlantis.
• Murmur 2003–4, a 16mm film installation that explores other mysterious visions of marine life.
We recommend that Trabblrs meet outside the museum, along the wall separating the two entrances. Admission to the exhibition costs £11.00.
