Completely restored and revitalized in 2008, the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Mumbai City Museum is a must-visit for anybody interested in architecture and the history of this bustling megapolis. The very act of walking through the museum's halls to view the permanent and visiting collections is an experience in and of itself; the interior's ornamentation and design are so intricate that you might mistakenly think that you're inside a palace! The museum's permanent collection is made up of fine and decorative arts, clay models, and dioramas that document the different communities of Mumbai and their culture and lifestyle during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Don't forget to check out the new multipurpose space in the back where you can enjoy refreshments at the outdoor cafe.
