According to The Daily Beast, DC's denizen's come in at #9 in its ranking of the 25 Drunkest Cities in 2012 (they're still better than Chicago and Boston!). But that shouldn't come as such a surprise - with amazing cocktail bars like Room 11 at their fingertips, we'd enjoy being tipsy, too.
Room 11 serves an ever-changing menu of inventive concoctions and comfort eats such as kofta kebabs and grilled cheese sandwiches in a cozy space that's perfect for Trabblrs who want to escape the crowds and unwind in up-and-coming Columbia Heights. With a patio out back and two indoor rooms, you can sip on a Ramos Gin Fizz, Basil Gimlet or Devil in Mexico while talking about your favorite sights in the city. While cocktails are key at Room 11, you can also order a host of dessert wines and craft beers.
If you still need convincing to visit Room 11, then the fact that it won the The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington RAMMY Award for the best "Beverage/Mixology Program" in 2013 might do the trick. It's time to quench your thirst.
Meeting point: At the bar. The closest Metro stop is Columbia Heights Station on the Green and Yellow Lines.
Leaders, Room 11 is open from 8am to 1am Sunday to Thursday and until 2am on Friday and Saturday.
