Set amidst lush greenery and steeped in history, Gillman Barracks is a cluster of contemporary art galleries housed in a colonial building. Once a stronghold to the First Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment, Gillman Barracks is now an up-and-coming Asian art destination. Each gallery is an offshoot or outpost of an international art house - ARNDT is from Berlin, Equator Art Projects is from Indonesia, and The Drawing Room is from the Philippines just to name a few.
The Barracks feature loads of special events such as artist talks, tours, and gallery nights so be sure to check out the website to see if anything timely and interesting is coming up! After visiting the galleries you can indulge in drinks, signature thin-crust pizzas, and local music at Singapore's favorite live music venue, Timbre @ Gillman.
Meeting point: Labrador Park MRT station Exit A. From here, we suggest Trabblrs walk to Gillman Barracks together. For directions on how to reach Gillman Barracks from the station, click here.
Leaders, please note that the galleries are closed on Mondays and public holidays.
