Tired of going out and want to be outdoors instead? Then head to the Southern Ridges, a 10km trail that connects three of Singapore's best parks with each other. Thankfully, this isn't just one big walk in the park - private donors have been leading initiatives to increase the biodiversity in the area by planting tree species that attract birds and other animals. Apart from being home to much of the city's flora and fauna, the Southern Ridges is also THE place to get unmatched panoramic views of the city.
While there are eight mini trails at the Southern Ridges, we think that Trabblrs will find walking the entire 9km stretch worthwhile. It's an easy walk on paved paths that can be completed in as little as 2.5 hours if you hurry. There are also refreshments and rest shelters along the trail for those who need a break!
We suggest starting east on the Marang Trail and making your way west. Highlights of the trail include Henderson Waves, the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore, and Canopy Walk.
Meeting point: Harbourfront MRT Station - Exit D. Once everyone is together, take the escalator up and you'll find yourself at the beginning of the Marang Trail!
Leaders, it can be hot in the middle of day in Singapore. Please choose a time in the morning or post-5pm. The evening works best if you want to see the sun set over the city.
