Housed in a former bowling alley in the Haight-Ashbury district, Amoeba Music is THE place to visit if you want to spend hours browsing aisles of music the way you did before the iTunes Store existed. There are amazing deals on used CDs, the vinyl selection is one of the best in the city, and the staff are really helpful in recommending albums that you might like.
Now we know that browsing isn't the most social of activities and so we thought it would be fun if Trabblrs played a rendition of Secret Santa and gifted one another a record. This way you can browse the store, get introduced to new music, and have something tangible to remember everything by! Amoeba also hosts free live performances, DJ sets, and signing events.
While you're in the Haight you should explore the area, which was Ground Zero of city's hippie culture in the '60s. For ideas on what to do, click here.
Meeting point: At the entrance to Amoeba.
Leaders, Amoeba is open from 11am to 8pm daily. Check out the schedule to find out if there's a gig happening in case you want to make it for that!
