Like other cities in Southeast Asia, Bangkok is big on live music. With bars here either dedicated to the art or simply an occasional host, it's really easy to bump into live music on a night out. But if jazz and acoustic renditions of pop songs aren't your thing, and you'd rather jam to funk and rock, then it's time to catch a cab to the outskirts of Bangkok to Parking Toys.
Like many of the bars in Ekkamai, Parking Toys is full of retro furniture and a crowd as eclectic as the bands that play there. The place is like a sprawling thrift store only you can't buy used bargains to take home with you. Slide up to the bar or grab a seat on the sofa, make friends with local rock aficionados, and sing a long to songs you may not have heard since the 90s. Live bands play nightly and you won't have to worry about being rejected at the door if you walk in wearing shorts - people are here for the music and as long as you are too, you're going to have an awesome time!
Parking Toys is a full night plan because it's a ways out of the city center.
Meeting point: BST Mo Chit Exit 3. Once congregated, hail a cab to take you to Lad Phrao. The address to give the taxi driver is 17/22 Prasert-Manukitch Soi 29.
Leaders, Parking Toys is open everyday from 6pm-2am. Have fun!
