Parallel to Soi Thonglor is Soi Ekkamai where artsy bars make you feel so at home that some are even contemporary furniture stores. There are obviously a few exceptions to the rule, but the bars that straddle Soi Ekkamai are known to be a lot more conducive to having great conversations over amazing cocktails and chill tunes. A crawl through Ekkamai is the perfect way to get to know other Trabblrs and explore some of the most creative drinking establishments in town. So let's begin!
The first stop is Ekkamai mainstay Tuba, a two-storey bar that could pass off as your best friend's house. Play pool, sit on a sofa, dust off an antique, and even buy a lamp simply because you can. Everything in Tuba is for sale. A friendly word of advice - get the chicken wings.
From Tuba, head next door to Moose, a relatively new entrant to the Ekkamai scene with decor resembling a hipster's cabin in the woods. Stuffed animals seem comfortable being frozen in their new woody habitat; we could certainly spend a lot of time here ourselves lounging on the retro leather couches. The cocktails here are made with precision and you can taste the TLC that went into making each one.
Once you're all Moosed up, head south on Ekkamai to Taksura where more chill vibes and cheaper booze await. Complement your drinks with Thai-style spicy pub grub. When you're in the mood for something livelier, you can cap your night clubbing at either Escobar (Ekkamai Soi 5) or Sonic (Ekkamai Soi 10).
Meeting point: Tuba's entrance.
Leaders, happy hours at Tuba are from 5-8pm in case that influences your start time!
