Regarded as one of the top ten parades in the world, San Francisco's Chinese New Year Parade has to be experienced to be believed. It's one of the last remaining night illuminated parades in the U.S. and is the largest celebration of Asian culture outside of Asia! We think that this is an awesome way for Trabblrs in the Bay to watch an unparalleled display of colorful costumes and unforgettable floats.
A highlight of the parade is the 268 ft. Golden Dragon - it takes a team of over 100 men and women to carry this dragon throughout the streets of San Francisco!
The parade starts at 5:20pm at 2nd and Market and disperses at Jackson and Columbus. You can check out the route here. We suggest Trabblrs meet close to the start of the parade at Peet's Coffee on Mission between 2nd and Anthony. From there you can move to anywhere along the route where you can get a good view!
After the parade, you can grab a stiff Chinese mai tai at Li Po and dim sum at any of the restaurants in the area.
