It's that time of year again for the annual BNHS Flamingo Festival! This is the best opportunity to see and appreciate the beauty of nearly 15,000 flamingos spread out on the mudflats, with the backdrop of lush mangroves. This is also a good place to see several other species of resident and migratory birds such as herons, egrets, ibises, gulls, terns, plovers, sandpipers, kingfishers and many more under the guidance of BNHS experts.
We think that this is a fantastic opportunity for Trabblrs to experience a sea of pink in our very own concrete jungle. By the way, did you know that Mumbai is only one of three cities in the world to host flamingos within its city limits (the others being Miami and Nairobi)?
What to bring:
- Binoculars or a telephoto lens if you're a photographer
- A hat and sunscreen
- Some excitement!
Come show your solidarity for the conservation of Mumbai's wildlife!
Meeting point: At the Sewri Station ticket counter. Once you've all congregated, you can make your way to the jetty together.
