The monsoon has begun its descent on Mumbai and that means it's time to step outside and enjoy the surrounding green hills! Life Away From Life is leading a trek to Peb Fort near Matheran this weekend. The fort is famous for its caves, which were used by Shivaji Maharaj as silos for grain storage.
This is a moderate one-day trek. The itinerary is as follows:
- 9am: Report at Neral Station on the Central Line toward Karjat / Khopoli.
- After an introduction and breakfast, you will begin your 3-hour trek to the top of Peb Fort.
- 1pm: Lunch.
- After lunch you can either head to Nakhind Ridge or rest.
- 3pm: Begin trek back to base.
The fee includes breakfast, snacks and a guide. You will need to bring your own water and lunch.
