Until Blue FROG opened in 2007, Mumbai didn't really have a modern, state-of-the-art live music venue. While nightclubs and pubs all played music, it was always secondary to another experience and hardly ever live. There just wasn't a central space for music aficionados to congregate in a relaxed and casual atmosphere and listen to local talent.

With that context in mind, there's no denying the deep and expansive impact that Blue FROG has had on the cultural and entertainment landscape of Mumbai. Today, Blue FROG continues its pioneering ways by constantly introducing Mumbaikars to new music and spring-boarding local artists to the big stage. Big name acts who have performed here include Vieux Farka Toure, Manu Chao, and Karsh Kale.

Food at the Blue FROG is also really good (if expensive) and varied - peri peri pork spare ribs, beetroot salad, and vegetable steamed wontons can all be found on the menu. An evening at Blue FROG is always awesome and should definitely be on the cards for Trabblrs who love listening to all sorts of live music that ranges from jazz and rock to house and fusion.

Meeting point: The ticket counter at Blue Frog, past security. To get there by cab, tell the driver to take you to Todi Mills / Mathuradas Mill Compound on Tulsi Pipe Road in Lower Parel.

Leaders, while there is usually an entry fee of around Rs. 200-500, you can get in for free if you enter before 9pm (hint, hint!).
