1. What is Trabblr?
Trabblr helps people discover the world around them through exciting small-group events and personalized city guides. Our mission is to make the world more social and fun, and to make top-rate travel information more open and accessible.
2. What does “Trabblr” mean?
Trabblr is the lovechild of “travel” and “babble”. We hope that the events and guides on Trabblr encourage meaningful exchanges that will lead to unbeatable explorations and discoveries at home and abroad.
3. When will Trabblr events start up in my city?
The short answer: it’s entirely up to you! We have an ever-growing list of cities that we cover but in case we’re not in yours, you have the power to take us there. All you have to do is vote!
To begin, first check to see if your city has a page on Trabblr by clicking on the “City” button in the header. If your city shows up in this list without a star in its name, then a guide has already been written for that city but not enough votes have been received to open it up for events. Simply click through and “Vote” to make the city one step closer to joining the Trabblr event network!
If your city isn’t in the dropdown list then someone (maybe you?) will need to write a guide to activate a dedicated page for your city. After you’ve written and published your enviabled guide, head over to the newly created page and cast your vote for Trabblr events!
1. What are stamps, and how do I earn them?
Stamps publicly recognize people for the positive contributions they make to Trabblr and are displayed in the Stamps section of your Trabblr Passport. You can currently earn stamps for: (1) organizing events; (2) attending events; (3) showing up for the events for which you’ve RSVP’d; (4) pinning cities to your Passport map; (5) writing guides; and (6) receiving vouches for your guides.
Each stamp category has five different levels, so aim high for some Trabblr community cred. Few things beat getting rewarded for doing the stuff you already love to do!
1. Why would I want to hang out with people I don’t know?
All of your friends were strangers at one point, and believe it or not, there are still some pretty awesome people in the world who share your interests and passion for discovery. Trabblr simply makes it easier for you to connect with them. Interacting with people from every corner of the globe and from all walks of life is an immensely fulfilling experience – not only do you learn about other cultures and perspectives, but you can also broaden your social circles in today’s increasingly globalized world. Our small-group socialization model also makes exploring the world safer, more transparent, and a lot less intimidating.
2. What's the difference between Feature Events, Kick-started Events and Community Events?
We have three types of events that differ based on how they are organized.
3. Do I have to prepay to attend Trabblr events?
Yes. After clicking on the “Join Event” button to RSVP, you will be redirected to our payment gateway to confirm your booking. The amount you pay depends on whether you are reserving a place at a Feature Event, Kick-started Event, or a Community Event.
4. I unfortunately can’t make it to an event for which I’ve already signed up. What do I do?
If you find that you can’t make it to a pay-on-arrival or free event, we urge you to please be considerate of other people’s efforts and time, and take a minute to remove yourself from the event by clicking on the “Leave Event” button on the event page. Simply not showing up is unfair to the event Organizer and other participants. Also, freeing up your spot gives other interested members a chance to participate.
To encourage people to remove themselves from an event that they are unable to attend, we have employed an Attendance Score that appears on every Trabblr member’s Passport. Ranging from A to F, this score reflects how well people have adhered to their RSVPs. After every event, the Organizer will check attendance against the latest roster of attendees. Those who actually showed up for the event will get a bump in their Attendance Score. Those who didn’t show up without formally leaving the event will get a downgrade.
5. What are “Trust Fees”?
We charge a nominal fee for Community, Kick-started and “free” Feature Events to only attract members who are seriously interested in attending these events with other members of the Trabblr community. This fee does not constitute a confirmed ticket to an event that's open to the public.
6. What is your refund policy?
Before joining an event, please carefully review your booking details against your personal calendar. Tickets once purchased cannot be refunded or exchanged unless the event is canceled by the Organizer. For extenuating circumstances please feel free to contact us at email@example.com. Similarly, “Trust Fees” are refundable only if the event is canceled by the Organizer or Leader.
7. Can a friend tag along with me to an event for which I’ve signed up?
Every attendee has to be a registered member of Trabblr and must join the event through the site. There are a few reasons for this. First and foremost, we’re building a transparent, long-lasting, and interactive community in which people can connect with each other before, during, and after events. If your friends just show up they will be missing out on these invaluable exchanges that make Trabblr so unique in the first place. Second, every event purposely has a capped attendance to keep them personal and casual. Third, venues may not be able to handle an unexpectedly larger group at the last minute. If you think your friends would enjoy a particular event, please invite them to join Trabblr!
1. What kinds of events can I create on Trabblr?
Trabblr is a great way to get a group of people together for a one-off activity that you think is fun and unique. Whether you want to check out that new gallery across town, go on a photography walk, or stuff your face with street food, Trabblr is the perfect platform to get your idea noticed and find some company. Keep in mind that you will have a greater turnout if your event is centered on an activity that is well-defined and has purpose. Give your event an agenda and skip vague coffees and general hang out sessions. We have a range of categories under which you can classify your events from “Discussions” and “Food” to “Culture” and “Outdoor”. As long as your event is authentic and was created under the premise of exploring a city with awesome people, anything goes! Feel free to check out past events for inspiration and please refer to our Community Guidelines for information on the types of events that are not allowed on Trabblr.
2. I have a pretty cool idea for an event. How do I go about creating it on Trabblr?
Making your mark on the social scene of a city is not only fun; it’s also easy! Travelers can create Trabblr events in destinations around the world to hang out with other tourists and outgoing locals, and locals can create events to pump new energy into their social lives while rediscovering their hometown. Just click on the “Create Event” button either from your Passport or from any City Page and fill in the relevant information.
3. How do I make my event as awesome as possible?
Think about all of the events that fight for your attention every day. Why do you choose to attend some and not others? Apart from logistical reasons, the main reason is probably whether it captures your attention or not. While completing the Create Event Wizard, be excited, personal, and genuine in the Description section. Fill in as many of the fields as possible to let the rest of the community know that you are serious about the event and that you really want it to succeed. We’ve provided a few prompts in the Description section to help guide you in the right direction.
4. OK, so creating my event on Trabblr was easy. Now how do I get people to join it?
We’ll try to do our bit to publicize your event through our own marketing channels. But to make sure that your event is the biggest hit possible, we encourage you to also take advantage of your own powerful networks. Spread the word with family, friends, and colleagues using email and social media tools such as Twitter and Facebook. Don’t forget to tag us on your Facebook posts and mention us using @Trabblr in your Tweets!
5. Can I edit my event after it’s been posted on Trabblr?
Sure. We understand that plans can change. However, please remember that each edit you make sends an email with the changes to all of the people who have signed up. Please keep changes to a minimum to avoid confusing people or shaking confidence in the event.
6. Can I cancel my event after it’s been posted on Trabblr?
If you find that you simply cannot make it to an event that you’ve created, please take a minute to cancel the event. All of the people who signed up to participate will be notified by email that the event is no longer occurring. This is not fun for anyone, so please do your best to carry out every event you plan.
7. What does being the Leader of a Trabblr Kick-started Event entail exactly?
The first person to join a Trabblr Kick-started event becomes the Leader. The title may sound daunting at first but a Leader’s responsibilities are few and simple. Namely, you agree to show up to the event on time, field calls from late or lost attendees, and help start the fun! We’ll also ask you to help compute Attendance Scores by keeping track of the people who didn’t show up for the event. Remember, Leaders don't have to be an expert on the concept or theme of the event; enthusiasm and a genuine desire to explore are all you need!
8. Can I back out of being a Leader of a Trabblr Kick-started Event?
If for some reason you can’t attend a Trabblr Kick-started Event that you signed up to lead, please let us know by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We'll try to keep the event alive by asking one of the other attendees to be the new Leader. If we're unable to find a new Leader for the event, we will unfortunately have to cancel it.
9. Why should I provide my phone number as the Organizer or Leader of a Trabblr event?
As an Organizer or Leader, only people who've joined your event will see your phone number.
It’s amazing what a quick call to an event Organizer or Leader can sort out on the day of an event. Lost attendees can find their way, late attendees can catch up with the group, and a last-minute no-show can let you know not to wait for them. It's always helpful to be within easy reach in case of unforeseen circumstances arise, and it brings confidence to the event attendees that the Organizer or Leader is indeed real and committed to making the event as smooth and successful as possible. That said, we respect and value your privacy. We will never share your phone number with third parties without your consent.
10. What if somebody who signs up for my event doesn’t show up?
Please remember who the no-shows are! After the event, you will receive a feedback form that allows you to mark attendance, which will directly affect the Attendance Score stamp of those who signed up for your event. Every Trabblr member has a public Attendance Score ranging from A to F on his or her Trabblr Passport. This score reflects their level of commitment to attending Trabblr events and can help Organizers of future events better gauge who might be late to an event and who’s unlikely to show up at all.

Only in good times, great company, and Trabblr vouches. Remember, you’re not creating events on Trabblr to make money; you’re doing it to genuinely explore different experiences around the world with likeminded people. 1. What is a Trabblr Guide?
Trabblr Guides are online resources written and curated by you to immortalize your travel experiences and help others plan future trips. You can pack them to the brim with tons of fun and useful information about a particular city – pin your favorite venues to an interactive map, add your own photographs, recount your most memorable experiences, and even suggest an itinerary for a short 36-hour layover.
2. Can I create more than one guide for a city?
Given that there is so much that you can include in one Trabblr Guide, you can currently create only one guide per city. This also makes it easier for other members of the community to find and use your guide!
3. I’ve started a Trabblr Guide but want to finish it later. How do I save it?
Trabblr Guides are automatically saved every time you click “Save and Continue”. If you wish to complete your guide later, make sure everything is saved by clicking “Save and Continue” before navigating out of your guide. The next time you click on “Create a Guide” from your Trabblr Passport, you will automatically be directed to your unfinished guide.
4. How do I share my guide with friends, family, and other Trabblr members?
Trabblr makes it easy to share your guides. A number of sharing options, including email, Facebook, and Twitter, are available to help you get the word out about your awesome guides.
5. Can I include links and contact information in a guide to help other travelers?
You may for businesses, but not for individuals. Though you’re bound to meet really cool people on your travels, please respect their privacy by not spreading their contact information all over the Internet.
6. What are Spotlight Guides, and how does Trabblr select them?
Spotlight Guides are Trabblr Guides that are featured on our homepage and chosen by the Trabblr team based on outstanding content. If you’d like one of your guides to be a Spotlight Guide, then make sure it is complete, original, and well written; includes tons of accurate and useful information; and highlights hidden aspects of a city. Who knows? Your fifteen minutes of fame could be just around the corner!
1. What is a Guru?
A Guru is a passionate member of the Trabblr community who helps to grow Trabblr in his or her own city. In their free time, Gurus create unique events, spread the word about Trabblr, and regularly connect with the Trabblr leadership team to help improve Trabblr for everyone!

1. How do I disconnect my Trabblr account from Facebook?
Please refer to these instructions from Facebook.
2. How do I add friends on Trabblr?
Friends on Trabblr can privately message each other using our internal messaging system. There are two ways that you can add more friends to your Trabblr Passport. The first is to connect your Trabblr account to Facebook. Every single one of your Facebook friends will automatically show up on your Trabblr Passport if they, too, have (a) signed up for Trabblr, and (b) connected their Trabblr account to their Facebook account. The second way is to attend Trabblr events. Participants of every Trabblr event you attend will automatically be added to the Friends section of your Trabblr Passport.
3. Can I invite others to join Trabblr?
Yes, the more the merrier!
4. Is it possible to unfriend or block a friend on Trabblr?
Yes. You will find a button to block a friend underneath his or her Passport photograph. Once you click that button, you will no longer be able to exchange private messages with that member or view his or her Passport.
5. How do I report someone, either for an online or offline issue?
We take inappropriate behavior seriously. If you believe that somebody is being obscene, disparaging, offensive, discriminatory, or otherwise creepy, please contact us immediately at email@example.com.
6. How do I change my password?
Click on “Settings” once you have signed in to Trabblr. You will have to verify your old password and then type in a new password twice. Hit “Save” and that’s it!
7. Oops, I forgot my password. How do I retrieve it?
You will find a link the Log In Page. After clicking on it, you will then be asked to enter your registered email address. An email will then be sent to your email account. Follow the instructions in that email and you’ll be up and running again in no time!
8. How do I close my Trabblr account?
Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to close your account, though we’ll be sad to see you go!
