This place is quite far from Udaipur main city. Its appx 2 Hrs drive from Udaipur main city. Definitely you need a car to commute to hotel.
Since its far off from city center and Palace itself has lots of recreational activities like - small golf course, Camel ride to explore surrounding village, a step well, open view pool, open view jacuzzi, Palace visit (MUST) as it tells you how the palace is designed with apt for nature's elements to be covered in the palace architecture/rennovation.
Basically this is an old palace which is converted into hotel with minimal changes or rearrangements. Architect/designer has hardly moved a stone from its original place and kept it as original as possible.
Every corner will reveal that men involved in the design loves nature to its core.
Lot to tell about this place but I feel its better you see yourself by visiting and experiencing it!

City Palace, Udaipur is a Palace build by Maharana Udai Singh as the capital of Sisodiya Rajput Clan.
Now this is about historical part, I want to bring upon its artistic, livelier part, reading which make you visit the place and believe me once you visited, you need minimum 4 to 5 hrs to photograph well at this place!
It starts with the Royal Entrance of the Palace complex and begin the journey with the view of cascaded style Palace of almost 10 storey tower!
Entrance of Palace is having huge symbol of Mewar Rajya and speaking about its strength, royal victory and pride of the country!
Entire palace is build with Rajasthani and Mughal Architecture in fusion!
Different sections of palace have Rajasthani paintings, Ceiling Frescos depicting Ramayana & Mahabharata stories, Persian Tiles, Colored stained glasses, Crystal Decoratives, traditionally carved jaalis, paintings & statues of stories of Mewar battles and maharajas, Gold and silver made in room interiors, Elegant door carvings, huge size and antique styled kitchen vessels and many thing more.
Palace doesn't limit itself to interior surprises but also offers panoramic view of entire Udaipur city making you awestruck looking at small houses, aravalli mountain range and farthest of the horizons merging well with clouds, valleys, mountains and small villages!
From City Palace height, one can see beautiful Lake Pichola adorned by Taj Lake Palace (Once Udai Singh Maharaja's pleasure and leisure palace), Jag Mandir.
Most surprising element in the palace was Huge Tree at the height of 10th floor!
